Natural rubber latex is a milky fluid found in rubber trees that we use to make our garments with. Caused by an over-sensitive immune system few people are allergic to the material and a latex allergy can bring about mild up to severe symptoms.

People who react to latex typically develop a skin rash. This is irritating but not life-threatening. However, if you have trouble breathing when you are around latex, or if you get a combination of symptoms, seek immediate medical attention and visit a doctor familiar with the condition. These symptoms include hives, itching or flushing, swelling, sneezing, runny nose, cough, wheeze, shortness of breath, chest tightness, nausea, dizziness or lightheadedness.

If you are aware of having a latex allergy you should unfortunately refrain from buying our products as people with severe reactions must avoid latex. :(

To have a nice and shiny latex garment, the following preparatory steps are required.

For manufacturing reasons, new latex garments often are covered in a fine layer of talcum powder. This layer can be easily removed by polishing. The most commonly used care products are latex polishes – with these you achieve a matt shine of the surface.

Applying latex polish:

Use a pump spray bottle to spray a little polish onto the latex and distribute it with a soft sponge. After a short drying time, the garment is ready - apply polish to the sponge first, if your garment only features latex on a woven base fabric.

Silk sprays are best for an intense shine. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. There is a risk of slipping when used in closed rooms as the spray mist leaves a stubborn slip film on smooth floors and sufaces.

Additionally Glossy Shine polish is a great alternative. The spray mist is not as strong due to the pump spray bottle. Nevertheless, as a result the clothes receive a great shine.

Like all clothing, latex needs regular maintenance. Latex is very sensitive to prolonged exposure to fats. Body secretions such as sweat or fat-based creams can destroy it. In the worst case latex can lose its elasticity and the material dissolves.

Please wash your latex garment regularly. If necessary, add a little soap or dishwashing detergent and then rinse with lukewarm water. Special care products such as Wash & Shine are ideal to maintain a shiny exterior.

You can wash your garment by hand or using the washing machine. When using the washing machine, turn the garment inside out and put it in a closed cloth bag. Wash to a maximum of 30° degrees celsius without spinning cycles.

After washing, latex sticks together easily. A light latex polish is sufficient to care for the outside.

Hang your garment and gently dab it with a dry towel until it is completely dry.

Avoid water stains on the surface of the garment while dabbing it with a dry towel. If necessary, turn the garment several times while drying.

After drying you can powder the garment lightly with talcum powder from the inside.

Always keep your garment in a cloth or garment bag. Latex needs to be stored in a UV-proof place and should not touch metals or plastic that include softeners; these can destroy or discolor the garment. We particularly recommend using a polish before storing your latex laundry, so it does not attract dust.

Keep your latex garment in a dark, cool and dry place, preferably on a wide hanger. Clamps are also suitable e.g. for socks, sleeves, collars, etc.

Light colors such as white, yellow or transparent are sensitive to contact with copper or alloys, for example brass. Make sure to keep belt buckles or jewelry made from these metals away from your latex clothing. The resulting stains can no longer be removed.
